What a coding advent calendar actually looks like

The Programmer Edition swaps chocolate for tiny puzzles: encoded clues, one line riddles and refactor dares. Here is a peek at three days.

Every card in the Programmer Edition is a challenge that takes five minutes, not an evening. The reward is already hidden somewhere, and the card tells you where in a way you have to decode first.

Day 3

A base64 string. Decode it in your head, in a terminal, or in the browser console. It spells out a room and an object.

Day 11

A four line function with an off by one bug. Fix the bug and the corrected output is the number of steps from the front door to the hiding spot.

Day 22

A regular expression that matches exactly one thing in the kitchen. Yes, it is the coffee.

If the person is not a developer but loves puzzles, the Brain shortcut in the quiz gives the same feel with riddles instead of code.
